Day 04: Pinchayunuyoc to Maizal.

After a wholesome breakfast to fuel our adventures, we set out on foot, traversing rugged terrain and winding pathways that lead us deeper into the heart of the Andean wilderness. As we trek along ancient Inca trails, our senses are awakened by the sights and sounds of nature surrounding us. Lush greenery, towering peaks, and cascading waterfalls create a picturesque backdrop for our journey, inspiring awe and wonder at every turn. Day 05 Maizal to Yanama

With each step, we are reminded of the vastness and diversity of the Andean wilderness, and of our own small place within it. Along the way, we pause to admire the natural wonders that surround us, from towering waterfalls and jagged peaks to delicate alpine flowers and ancient Inca ruins. We drink from crystal-clear streams and breathe in the fresh mountain air, feeling a profound connection to the land and its rich history.

As the sun climbs higher in the sky, we find ourselves at a picturesque spot, surrounded by mountains that seem to touch the sky. Here, we pause for a delightful meal, the flavors mingling with the fresh mountain air, rejuvenating both body and spirit. With renewed energy, we continue our trek, the trail leading us ever higher, ever closer to the heavens. After hours of hiking, we finally arrive at Quellcamachay, our campsite for the night. Nestled among snow-capped peaks, this spot is a haven of tranquility, a place where time seems to stand still. Here, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, we have the opportunity to try our hand at fishing in the mountain river, the clear waters teeming with life. As the sun sets behind the peaks, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, we gather around the campfire, sharing stories and laughter under a blanket of stars. Camping at Quellcamachay is more than just an overnight stop; it is an experience that will stay with us forever, a testament to the beauty and power of the natural world.

Day 07: Quelcamachay to Vilcabamba to Santa Teresa.

As the morning sun casts its golden rays over the mountains, we break camp at Quelcamachay, our spirits high with the promise of a new day’s adventure. Setting out early, we follow the ancient Inca trail that winds its way through the rugged terrain, each step taking us closer to the Choquetacarpo pass. After a challenging ascent, we reach the pass at an impressive 4600 meters above sea level. The panoramic views from here are breathtaking, a stunning vista of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys that stretch out as far as the eye can see. Descending from the pass, we make our way to Huancacalle, where a well-deserved lunch awaits us by the tranquil lagoons. Rejuvenated and refreshed, we continue our journey by car to Nustahispaña, where a guided visit offers us a glimpse into the region’s rich history. As the day draws to a close, we embark on the final leg of our journey, a scenic drive to Santa Teresa. Here, amidst the beauty of the Andean landscape, we set up camp for the night, the stars twinkling overhead, a silent witness to the beauty and majesty of the mountains.

Day 08: Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes, overnight in Aguas Calientes.

As the sun rises over Santa Teresa, we fuel up with a hearty breakfast, ready to embark on the next leg of our journey. Our private transportation awaits, ready to take us to the Hydroelectric plant, the starting point for our trek to Aguas Calientes.
The trail winds through the lush high jungle, offering glimpses of the surrounding mountains and the vibrant greenery of banana and coffee plantations. Every step is a feast for the senses, as we immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of this breathtaking landscape.

After a few hours of trekking, we arrive in Aguas Calientes, a charming town nestled in the valley below Machu Picchu. Here, we check into our comfortable hotel, where warm hospitality and cozy accommodations await. It’s the perfect place to rest, relax, and recharge before our adventure to Machu Picchu tomorrow. Day 09: Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu, return to Cusco.

With anticipation coursing through our veins, we rise before the sun to embark on this unforgettable adventure. After a hearty breakfast, we make our way to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where we are greeted by our knowledgeable guide who will lead us on a fascinating exploration of this ancient citadel. As we pass through the iconic stone gates, we are transported back in time to the height of the Inca Empire. Over the course of the day, our guide illuminates the mysteries of Machu Picchu, sharing insights into its history, architecture, and significance. We wander through its enigmatic ruins, marveling at the precision of its stone constructions and the ingenuity of its engineering. Day 10: Flight to Lima

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, we take some time to explore the charming streets of Cusco one last time, savoring the vibrant atmosphere and rich cultural heritage of this historic city. As we stroll through the bustling markets and winding alleyways, we reflect on the adventures we’ve had and the friendships we’ve made along the way. Each cobblestone street holds its own story, a testament to the enduring spirit of this extraordinary Inca capital. Before departing for the airport, we pause to visit a local artisan market, where we have the opportunity to purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs to commemorate our time in Peru. From intricately woven textiles to delicate pottery, each piece serves as a cherished memento of our journey. With our hearts full and our suitcases packed with memories, we make our way to the airport, where we bid farewell to the land of the Incas.
